Kawasaki majave 250 problems...?

i have a kawasaki majave 250 and i got it to start once and it ran out of gas....hasnt started since...filled up gas tank and changed sparkplug and sparkplug cap...still not getting spark and if i push start it it putts for a second or two and quits...any ideas? (kickstart)
