Curl hair in the morning after hair putted in a bun ?

I want curly hair for my orchestra concert tomorrow and I want to do something to my hair after getting out of the shower. Can I braid my hair , putted into twisted buns and wake up next morning with my hair throughly dry ; then curl it with a straightener ? (: Please help ! <3
